MY POINT OF VIEW
I was born in Ankara, Turkey, in 1970. After earning my degree in Civil Engineering from Middle East Technical University (METU) in 1992, I moved to Moscow in 1993, where I spent more than two decades working as an engineer and project manager in the construction industry. In 2014, I relocated to the United States, where I now live in Florida.
Photography has always been my way of observing and understanding the world beyond my professional life. Inspired by the work of Nikos Economopoulos, Josef Koudelka, and Henri Cartier-Bresson, I studied reportage photography in Moscow and gradually developed my own visual language.
My work is rooted in street photography and documentary storytelling, exploring the quiet, unscripted moments of everyday life. Whether photographing at home or while traveling, I am drawn to human interactions, fleeting expressions, and the subtle contrasts that reveal the complexity of our world.
I began working exclusively in black and white before gradually embracing color as another expressive element. Rather than directing scenes, I prefer to let life unfold naturally, relying on available daylight and ambient light to preserve the authenticity of each moment.
For me, photography is not simply about creating images—it is about witnessing time, preserving emotion, and sharing the stories that often go unnoticed. Through my lens, I continue to explore an ever-changing world, one frame at a time.
